I Voted

I voted in the primary today. I voted Republican, but not for McCain. Yes, I'll probably vote for him in November, because he is a better choice than Clinton or Obama, but he doesn't represent me. So for the primary, since I had to choose a party to be identified with, I chose Republican. But I didn't choose McCain. I was very pleased to discover that all the original candidates were still on the ballot. I was even more pleased to note that Alan Keyes was a candidate at one time. He apparently dropped out very early, but he is someone I would not be ashamed to support. Some may say that I wasted my vote. But my reasoning is that I CAN'T support any of the Democrats, and there are several things about the Republican "nominee apparent" that I strongly disagree with (immigration, most of all). Hopefully, Senator McCain will get the message if enough conservative Americans don't support him in the lead up to the convention.

  1. I wasn't alone in my vote for Mr. Keyes. As of 8:48 p.m., WLOX says that there were at least 206 other like-minded folks!

  2. Primary day was an anomaly for me this year....I didn't vote. I was unable to force myself to cast a ballot for any of the front runners. I'm feeling a bit like the young child who stubbornly refuses to open his mouth when given bad-tasting medicine. Not even holding my nose would help. But at least with the medicine, you can rest in the knowledge that in the long run it will be good for you.....Had I thought to check out a sample ballot beforehand I probably would have gone and voted for Mr. Keyes(or possibly Mr. Brownback) myself.

  3. Caleb is the one who told me that all the originals were still on the ballot or I might not have gone myself.

  4. I also voted in the primary for Alan Keyes. Now that it's come down to a vote between pure evil and partial evil, I will likely do the same in November.

I will not vote for unconservative McCain. If Alan Keyes goes third party, and it looks like he will, he'll have my vote. www.alankeyes.com

  5. Sometimes I wonder how it came to this. Where did all the conservatives go? Did they just not turn out at all until we were left with no voice?
