Hanani or Hananiah

I was reading this morning in Nehemiah, chapter 7.

Nehemiah was in charge of rebuilding Jerusalem in the midst of local opposition. Some people wanted the work to stop, so he was setting up security.

This is verse 2:
I put in charge of Jerusalem my brother Hanani, along with Hananiah the commander of the citadel, because he was a man of integrity and feared God more than most men do.
Those 2 names are so similar. In fact, to most of us native English speakers, if reading aloud, we might even assign the same pronounciation to both.

But would you rather be given a job because you are the boss' brother, or would you rather it be because you have a reputation for integrity and love for the Lord?

Wow.
